CARE OF A TREE STUMP TABLE
Depending upon the wood, several finishing methods are used, all utilizing eco-friendly stains, oils, waxes and water-based topcoats. Wax on top of wood oil is most commonly used for the natural/blonde finish pieces, which creates a more organic look. This may require a re-application of wax about once a year to restore the full beauty of the piece. The wax can also be used to fill any naturally occurring cracks that have occurred. Use Fiddes brand wax ("Forest Brown" for natural/blonde pieces; "Jacobean" for dark brown pieces,). Fiddes "Supreme Wax" can be purchased at most hardware stores, or on line at www.fiddes-usa.com. Follow manufacturers recommendations. When a water-based, acrylic lacquer or clearcoat is used, no extra care is ever required.
